17th March 2021 - 'Working with Textures' by Jane Lazenby BA (hons) Fine Art, QTFE(2), ASEA, LRPS, CPAGB, BPE3, EFIAP, LMPA
www.ejlazenbyphotography.co.uk
A truly superb evening. I don't think I was the only one who was up late after the talk trying out some  textures I had filed away. Lots of great feedback from club members about Jane's easy going style, making her talk easy to follow. Lets hope for a return visit.
Picture
“Answering all the what and how questions, I go through sourcing and creating textures , how to use blend modes and then 3 different methods of how to apply textures to an image.
After a short mid way break, I invite the club to submit random images for a live edit where I will take between 3-5 images and apply textures from my own stock to create final pieces., narrating every click on route. I believe that seeing the process happen 'for real' is very valuable for viewers.
A talk that always goes down well as a hands-on 'how-to', I travel slowly and clearly through the technical aspects, happily repeating steps if requested.”

'17th FEBRUARY 2021 - 'Mongolia - Eagle Hunters' a presentation by Julian Elliott

What an amazing presentation, a great insight into a lesser travelled part of the world. And if you're feeling like an adventure just visit Julian's website and you could book up and travel with him next time he goes.

Julian Elliott has been a professional landscape and travel photographer for 10 years. Having started writing for a number of British UK photography magazines he started selling his work through the World renowned Getty Images. To date his work has sold in over 40 countries and he has travelled in over 30 countries capturing the world around him.  The talk is called  Mongolia - From Steppe to Eagle Hunters. Journey from Mongolia's capital to the Altai in the country's far west. See how Julian's journey in this vast country unfolded and hear how he captured the vast landscapes and the people that inhabit them. Watch how Julian switches between from being a landscape photographer to travel to sports when the talk finishes with a look at the Eagle Festival.

February 10th - An Evening with our Chairman Barry Knott 'A Look at the West'
Thank you to Barry for a lovely evening, it was great to look back over his travels to the USA in 1993. Converting these slide images to digital files was a huge undertaking but so worthwhile. Stunning scapes from San Francisco, the Grand Canyon and Yosemite National Park.
