An evening of firsts, our first meeting at our new home in Corby and our first zoom hybrid. The evening gave us the chance to settle in to our new surroundings and iron out any technical problems. Hopefully our new Corby location will encourage some newcomers. We had an extremely good turn out for our AGM, almost 100% attendance. Thank you to all our members and committee for their continued support. We are looking forward to an enjoyable and successful year ahead.

23rd March 2022 - Monthly Competition Subject 'Open

This was the last competition of the 2021-2022 season, and we will now be able to calculate the DPI Worker of the Year which will be extremely close.  The result will be announced at the AGM.
The WJB Swingler Award has been won again by Christine Stafford, well done.

16th MARCH 2021 - Annual Exhibition of the Vale of Evesham Photo 2021 ​

We had a good and lively discussion on why images are successful in Exhibitions and Competitions while also looking at the stunning entries in the Vale of Evesham Exhibition Photo 2021 Nature Section.  I felt we all learnt from it and hope some were encouraged to enter National Exhibitions themselves.  This should also help us to make informed decisions when we come to selecting our External Competition entries later this year although you all did an excellent job in our last image selection pole.

After many happy years at Stanion Village Hall and the last 2 years mostly on zoom, Corby Photographic Club is pleased to announce we have a new home. Our meetings will now be held at The Church Hall, Danesholme Community Centre. It will be good to have Corby Photographic Club back in Corby and to get back to face to face meetings.

We will hold all our future indoor meetings here starting on Wednesday 6th April 2022.

4th MARCH 2022 - FRIDAY - Fosse Co-op Camera Club Inter Cities Trophy 2022

We are extremely proud to be able to tell you that Corby came second out of 14 clubs in this years Fosse Co-op InterCities Competition. 

Congratulations go to Leicester Forest on their win, with thanks to Fosse, for hosting, and the Judge Mike Sharples MFIAP MPAGB FBPE ARPS EFIAP. 

This was our last External Competition for this season, which has been very successful with us beating both Desborough and Market Harborough in our Annual Battles.  We have done better than we have ever done at St Ives and at Fosse.  We have had Images accepted in MCPF Photofolio and Midphot plus several other National and International Exhibitions and Salons.

Surely our success has been due to everyone upping their game and producing some outstanding images in our monthly competitions.  This has given the club as a whole the material to select good entries in all the competitions.  Well done everybody.

A great evening with our friends at Market Harborough Photographic Society for this years annual battle. Well done to Market Harborough who achieved the top two placed images, however congratulation go to Corby for a very decisive win.

Many thanks goes to the judge Harry Emmett CPAGB from Accrington Camera Club.  Harry was a very astute judge who never missed a detail.  He enthused over the good points of the weaker images, made constructive suggestions on how to improve the stronger ones and gave a broad range of measured and meaningful marks.
