'What an excellent surprise we had last night. I think everybody agreed that it was a great start to the year thanks to everyone who contributed and made it so enjoyable. For those that couldn’t make it the evening went as follows. Irene Hupman started the evening with an AV showing past CPC evenings and outings set to guitar music. Next up was Christine Stafford with another AV his time featuring the local floods and a foggy walk which was also set to music this time with a more folky flavour. Colin Bloor really excelled himself with a most interesting talk about stone age remains a lot of them on Scottish Islands, which is worthy of a full evening presentation in the future. The first half was finished off in style with a series of photos taken by Len Halifax, many of them taken with his recently acquired macro lens. After a short break Malcolm Hupman gave us an AV set to classical music of some local landscape ideas. Andrei Van der Walt excelled himself with a series of before and after images. The before images were good but we were completely blown away by what Andrei had been able to do with them. Next up was what must have been a surprise to most people by Paul Matthews who showed us some 40 year old footage of when he was a professional wrestler. The evening was concluded by Ray Kilham with some excellent wildlife photography which included his LRPS Panel and all set to music. All the timings worked out perfectly with just time for a 10 minute break and the evening concluded just before 10pm.
