Corby Photographic Club originated in 1936 when it was then the Camera Section within Stewart & Lloyds Welfare Club. The Club currently meets each Wednesday evening - from September to May in the The Church Hall, Danesholme Community Centre. During the summer months the club is “on location” for an opportunity to take those winning shots. These summer meetings are held around the local area, starting earlier in order to take any pictures before dusk. It is always a social evening and there is usually a nearby hostelry for anyone to take advantage of before wending their way home. One meeting per month is held in the Club Room usually on the last Wednesday, to enjoy the Monthly Projected Competition, having a set or open subject. For more information please visit our programme page.
If you are a keen photographer yourself, or just enjoy seeing photographs taken by others, then why not join us? The winter meetings begin at 7.15pm and last for a couple of hours. Visiting lecturers often give us a talk on their chosen photographic subject or specialty, or perhaps a travel log, which is both entertaining as well as informative
Our Annual Competition is held in April. This is a chance to win various shields and trophies which are held for one year within five categories: architecture, miscellaneous, nature, pictorial, portraiture. During the year many opportunities arise to enter work in national competitions to compete with other photographic club members from around the country. Please visit our competition pages for more information.
