We have an entry of 51 images which although not as good as last month is still good. The standard is high and it will be very difficult to sort out a winner. Well done everyone who entered. The judge is Alfred Brown CPAGB who was put on the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union Roll of Honour in 2003.

Unasked for critique is not welcome although advice could be given if it was asked for. Members could tell us where and why thy took the photo if they wanted to. Let us know what problems they had to overcome and even why things didn’t go as well as planned. It would not be a competition and previously used images would be allowed. Photos could be used in future competitions and the evening could be used to get feedback on images that you are thinking of entering in Competitions. Alternatively it could be used as a place to show what you are doing.

The first part of the talk covers photography as a visual language. In the second part, Carolines aim is to provide club members with an understanding of the impact of their in-camera and post-processing choices on the end image.

This is a members participation evening when we chat about the equipment we have, how we use it and what we use it for. Normally this a live event but this year we are going to try it on zoom. If you want to show us images and me to project them please send photos by email or put them on PhotEntry under Members Evenings. I have created a section that will be open until 16th November. If you want your images to be shown in a specific order please start the title or file name with your initials and the number. Eg “MH1 D500” then “MH2 Flash gun”. If you wish you can share your screen but if you do decide to do this please make it clear to me at the start of the evening.

Although, perhaps, better known by some for his enthusiastic administration of KCPA and PAGB activities, Clive Tanner is an accomplished photographer, primarily of church architecture. He provides several lectures, including an enthralling evening with his print lecture, "Beyond Divine Light", combining his early "career" in photography and his passion for church photography. Having started with a 5x4 view camera, Clive now uses a combination of tilt-shift lenses, HDR and detailed attention to every part of his images. You will seldom have seen a better collection of prints on the subject than his MPAGB entry. He has judged and lectured widely, mainly to Clubs in the South East.

A ‘travelogue’ type talk. Based on 3 trips to Nairobi, the 1st half is centred around a school project that he is involved with in a slum on the outskirts of Nairobi. For the 2nd half we visit a couple of wildlife conservation projects before heading out to the Nairobi National park and the Masai Mara for images of the wildlife
