As well as lectures and practical evenings we also have monthly, annual and inter-club competitions.
Competitions give you something to aim for in your photography and will help to improve the quality of your photos. External judges are invited to offer a friendly and constructive critique, hopefully assisting the author in their learning and experience in the art of photography. There is no pressure at all in entering any competition but it is a good way to get feedback on your work and you will learn from seeing other member's images and hearing the judge’s comments. The real purpose should be about entering and taking part, if your entries do well then that's a bonus.
Our monthly competition takes place on the last Wednesday of the month, the entries are due in the week before.
In our club competitions the judge’s decision is final. We respectfully request that you consider all critique is given with the best of intentions and that you accept this gracefully as whilst we do not expect you to agree with all judges’ comments, we expect you to respect them.
